This Is the new light, the sun and moon of the Industrial scene, so the world press writes these days.
But is it really THAT great or only one the countless hypes we must live with - especially in this scene ? HOINH presents us their self titled debut album now as a kind of secret pre release on Myspace. But the SL chronicles of course got the link and was able to hear that stuff everyone seems to talk about the last weeks. The band themselfes - as everyone should know - are a secret comunity of well known electronic musicians, that work together the first time in this all star band. These people wish to stay incoknito and we respect that.

So this is so to speak an online pre-release EP with 6 songs at the moment, let´s just take a listen to each song and judge it against the hype and praise this band get´s....there might be more songs added later, as the band wishes to present their fans a complete album.

a) A Fluid In The Light: Surprisingly melodic song with nice synthbass and cool percussions. The voice is very good and has a cold feeling. But the refrain then is world class, guess it could be a top 10 charts hit. But this isn´t all about this stunning piece. The 3rd half of this song is pure fookin grindcore guys. Listen and believe me...

b) Chokin´On A Muffin: This is actually Rock `n Roll. Harsh guitars mixed with intersting drum rythms. Quite complex and musically top notch this could be the next Ministry or Fear Factory hit.

c) Cyberscheisse 73: Whow, what do we have here ? This must be a huge dancefloor hit. A rythm that goes directly to your legs and commands: DANCE!. There is a huge oldstyle analogue sounding bass, nice melodies as well very cool speech samples.

d) I Have A Real Feeling: Here we come to a song which is more build on percussions and noisy drums. There is also a bit D n´B thrown in. A very good change to the styles in the songs before. THUMBS UP!

e) Shake A Spear For Shakespeare: Another guitar driven song (notice what huge diversity you find on this EP?) but this time not so much in the indus metal genre but more a mixture from synthpop, ebm and rock elements. Haunting vocals give you shivers and leave your mouth open on the musicianship presented here....

f) This Is A Gun: Well this one is maybe the most club friendly and techno influenced song, if it hadn´t 2 breaks which dancers don´t like too much. But those breaks add more diversity to the track. It is build on a plucking bass and hard basedrums. Around those are constructed nice oldstyle sounding pads and more synthvoices. You also get here a superb selection of speech samples which will transport a message against violence in any form especially the one against killing people with guns. It might be inspired by "This Is A Rifle" from Combichrist, but has for shure enough own elements to let it stand on itself. In short: A cool last - but not least - track of this EP.

Well, this EP left me speechless. I now wait together with millions of fans out there for the release of the full album. A must get for any industrial and electronic music fan !

Rating: 9/10.

Das falsche Gebot:
Boy, what a dissapointment. After all the great stuff this band has put out till now, I had to listen to this piece of pure crap. Don´t know what the guys thought when making this. It is basically distorted beats with machine noises thats all about it. There are cheeeesy and oooooold Hitler samples thrown in which - you guess - suck big time. Trooper Of SADISM/HOINH stated they want to make a stand vs. facism, yeah this is 1 point for the idealism and another point for the "music": 2/10

Space And Time ContinuHOINH:
Here the genius of HOINH shines again, a refined beat with breaks and strange noises coupled with supeeeeer female spoken words which I guess are very sexy if you are into sexy women voices. At last you also hear a wicked laughter from the singer....which is what HOINH stands for: QUALITY OVER QUANTITY: 8/10 for this track..

Aufgrund der forumsweit gestreuten postings, die außer Hinweisen auf diese Band keinen Inhalt hatten (und die ich daher als Werbepostings geslöscht habe), habe ich mir eben die myspace-Seite angesehen - augenkrebsfördernd ist schon der passende Ausdruck.

Und die Musik - ich habe nach einer Minute die Lautsprecher abgeschaltet, weil es mir absolut nicht gefiel. Wie irgendwo auf der verlinkten Rezensionsseite zu lesen war: It's crap.

Der thread ist übrigens im falschen Subforum, ich verschiebe zu Bands & Projekte.

Ansonsten: Ja, die Myspace-Seite tut in den Augen weh. Die "Musik" ist auch nicht so gar nicht meins, Baustellenkrach habe ich sogar ohne Internet oder HOINH vor meiner Haustür und der macht mich schon aggressiv genug.

Another fan review. We’re agog.

What a mixed bag after a few listens to this album. HOINH is a large group, the new wave had some really important records in the past months and weeks. Not enough that these monstrous hits. Let's get in most songs, which you surely know.
It is the definition of the new wave of track and eighties-style, "Hohohoinhho". A scenario for a man makes her a star and is on her own. And she leaves him? The participation of the dialogue really captures you and the savvy mix of techno keyboards and catchy is legendary. "This Is A Gun" is a fairly optimistic number keypad with a touch of ska feeling, but without the horns. The things this group have keyboards, I'll tell ya. "I Have A Real Feeling" is a sensitive love song, and has continued in the direction of the new wave of brilliance, but this time R & B master HOINH a rift in the group. The production is a simple mixture of drum machines and light touch of ivory. A classic era of big hair and their second smash ( "Space And Time Continuhoinh" is their first). Their next hit here known to the obscure nature, but if you had an eye on MTV and VH1 for about a month or so in 2007, you have to hear this clubby record with a retro feel in ads for shows reality. "Cyerscheisse" is very much like "N For Nerd," but the sound is of a Europe that effort updated dance, which is very plausible, but I do not know, it was could be a huge chart hit here.

They need to know and how these four songs, as I was, and am still, but looked at the rest of the series, and asked: "Total Hoinh". Well, the truth is revealed that in this sentence HOINH is really not that the industry is a band, but one of its New-Wave Experiment, worked a few times. The rest of the songs are mostly dark-sounding accounts of love. "A Fluid In The Light" trip to Motown "Karma Chameleon" (even if this does not come, first served). No one asked for, have they? Trippy request comes as a creepy in "Banned Electro" and "ShakeASpear 4 Shakspeare." These early efforts together with "Das Falche Gebot" are just terrible and dated. "Banned Electro" is so much talk here that you think it was a great political song, but it is so dry and pop, that it feels stale rocky.

The not big hits are not so bad, but a required taste, you do not expect here. The fun pop hits here, but are very important and very danceable. For the hits, you might want to be this sentence, but the aging of the eighties synth arrangements pull the album. Also, I know it's strange that I want, that imports, but I found it on a trip and had only musically something different from the United Kingdom. Maybe next time I should for something modern.

Myspace ist geil, und man findet fast alles was man sucht. aber eine band find ich net. Daher helft mir bitte. Weiß jemand wie der ebm-song in diese hitlers klöten samples drin sind heißt!? Ich finde es einfach nirgens. Ich weiß nur daß immer wieder samples wie "mit einem hoden kann man nicht ficken" oder "mein glied wird nicht steif und deswegen gibt es jetzt krieg."
